There is no free Lunch

There Are no Free Lunches!

no free lunch

There is no free Lunch-To get everything done, we need to work and even if we want others to work for us, then too we got to work and that too harder. And the work can be defined in many ways, it can be a job of any sort, a labor work, a household work, and what not. And to survive we need to do them.

“There are no such things as Free lunches” the phrase says a lot.

To endure in this pacing life, an idle person can never survive and we can start from the very bottom. Even the greatest entrepreneurs started from the very bottom and they succeeded and achieved manifolds. This was only possible because they worked! They worked day in and day out, like a Trojan, their uphill struggle brought them to where they are now and that wouldn’t have been possible if they chose to stay idle.

If they had taken the easy way out, of staying inside their comfort zone, their existence would’ve vanished till time!

SOUP FOR THE SOUL

So pull up your socks from today! Start working! There ain’t no free lunches my friend!

Under The Eclipse Of Religion!

our religion

Under The Eclipse Of Religion!

Under The Eclipse Of Religion!-“There’s only one God and he watches over everyone squarely!” They say!

“There are 330 million gods that need to be served and worshipped differently.” The Hindu mythology says.

So! What are we supposed to do? We, the Hindus, are stuck dreadfully in this wicked dilemma of hypothesis. On one hand we’re told that our KARMA should be pure enough, we should never hurt the beings around us because they too are the creation of that one super natural power that resides in the far heavens, while on the other hand we’re sacrificing the life of innocent animals in the name of offerings to the lords that we worship.

We believe that our Lords will be delighted if we sacrifice blood and life of such animals and that we’ll be showered with hordes of blessings. Can we call it a vigorous mythology? Well, it doesn’t seem like one!

Having ones beliefs and having a herd mentality are poles apart. Today, praying only means following some religion blindly. We never go into the logic of what is right and what is wrong, we just keep following what has been told to us since ages.

But, we can’t just bear it out straight forwardly that whatever is being preached since ages, has to be right. It can be wrong, it can be wrong in many ways, and no one told us to do the wrong under the eclipse of a RELIGION. No religion tells us to be sinful and if our insides tell us that something is sinful, than you can rest assured that the religion never taught us the same, it just preached something which has been manipulated appallingly by human beings and now it gave the religion, an ugly face.

So, one should follow religion, not the transgressions created under its name!

Tough Times-‘Artist is not paid for his work but for his vision.’

The world belongs to those who view the world differently. These are the people who have the vision of a completely new world which lies unexplored.

Many blessed artists have contributed for a better world, giving the world a path to progress on. But today’s situation speaks otherwise. These are troubled times for an artist as there are very few who acknowledge the art and understand its true meaning.

It is truly said, ‘Art is the only to run away without leaving home.’

Cooking is an Art!

Who said cooking is a mundane activity? Cooking is a hell lot of fun. I know many of my friends who haven’t step foot inside the kitchen ever in their life. They don’t know what they are missing. Some might think that cooking is meant for womenfolk and men have nothing to do with it. But this isn’t true factor in the  cultural diversity of India and we could have similar debates played out a million times over

Beggars on the Street

Poverty is like termite which is hollowing our country’s strength. It is making our country weak from within, yet we take very little step to counter this weakness.

The other day when I was walking down the street near the railway station I saw a woman begging for food and money. This is a very common sight in our country.

Begging has become a new kind of profession and every day the number of people begging on the streets increases. Maybe it is we who are catalysing this process by giving them money. You may think of it as a noble cause but instead you breed in them the habit of getting money for nothing. Maybe it is time for us to ponder upon how we can really help them overcoming this easy-access of money. It is time for us to act.

Serpent

It was the day of ‘Naagpanchami’, the day Hindus worship Lord Naag, the snake. It is customary to feed the snake some milk and pray for your family’s safety.

But this is not the only reason behind the festival. On a more scientific note, it is worth noticing how our customs and traditions have entangled and intrigued our lives with nature and how beautifully we respect all the forms of life.

Indeed our culture is ancient and is very rich. Though we are modernizing every day we must also preserve what has been in existence for centuries. For however old it may be, still it has a golden charm in it.

The Farmers

In India farming is the bread earning job for millions of people. And these millions of people are feeding another 100 million people by their hard labor.

They toil the land and crack open its chest,

They sow the seed and the land does the rest.

The farms grow and it flourishes the world,

The wheat that grows nourishes the world. ~ Tanishq

Instead of being the richest of all the people in India, for they feed every mouth with the fruit of their hard labour, their condition is very poor. Farmers are committing suicide because of their debts and they government takes no measures to help them. For an agricultural based economic country, it is very important to care of the needs of these farmers. Let us all join hands and contribute for their growth, for our nation’s progress.

Seeing Sun’s Soul Setting

Seeing Sun’s Soul Setting-Our choices make us who we are. The course of our life is determined by the choices we make while on the journey, though we reach the destination somehow, the choices we make en route influence us deeply.

Often we find ourselves standing on the cross-road where making a decision becomes very important. At such juncture we are stuck a midst the fight of the Brain and the heart.

In almost all cases you will realize that these two are two ends and will never ever meet. And you ought to choose one among them. To which side will you incline? Will you listen to your heart, which is based on emotions and instincts or will you opt the Brain which puts logic behind everything?

Well, I write this not to tell what to do.  But whichever direction you lean to, it will be deciding your fate. So choose wisely and have no regrets.

‘Whenever heart and mind stand against each other, I choose the one who fights the least!’

music is my soul

Ever since the human race came into existence, the tunes and melodies must be present because I feel that music is the easiest way to connect to other person’s soul. I believe if you want to know the person’s current mood you must ask him/her about which song they are thinking about right now and you will come to know their mood immediately. Try it!

Someone has struck the Bull’s eye, saying, ‘Music is my life, it is a reflection of what I go through’.

The above lines are very true indeed. For when I tried the trick on my friends it worked. Music defines our life.

The Sunset

After a long tiring day at college, I often go by the lakeside to see the sun going down. The hue is just mesmerizing. The colors so vivid that I actually forget my day long exhaustion. The sunset gives a soothing feeling.

‘As the sun goes down, my day ends.

It reflects light, on water; I reflect my actions, on life.

Finally it rests, and so do I.

It rises again tomorrow and so will I.’

The sunset not only delivers the farewell for the day but also gives an assurance for a new beginning with a new sunrise.  This cycle is what gives me an inspiration to endure for my goals and strive harder every day. Even if the day is filled with failures, I keep progressing because I know, tomorrow is a new beginning.

Helping Hand

first baby steps

The First Step

Helping Hand-None of us remembers the first step we took as a child. Perhaps, it is one of the most cherishing memories of our childhood which are parents describe repeatedly to us. But I wonder what is so significant about that first step?

Is it that the first step signifies we can now walk on our own? Maybe, or maybe it denotes that we have now learned to move ahead and progress. It may be different things to different people. And that first step does not end there. In life we take many smaller steps and many first times.

The first time we went to school, the first time you rode a bicycle, the first time you aced the exams or flunked 😛 The first time you kissed! And many other first things. Cheers to all those, for it was a bold step that you took. Take that first step, for it is the boldest move.

You may not know what lies ahead, the things that are going to occur on the way are not comprehensible, don’t hesitate, do the move, take that first step.

helping hand

The other day, I was waiting near the crossing to go to the other side of the road. I saw an old man, waiting for the traffic to stop for he wanted to cross the road. But the traffic was too fast for him to comprehend when to start walking across the road. His old age prohibited him from crossing the road. I wanted to help, but I was on the other side of the street.

Then I saw another boy of my age who approached the old man and offered help. This sight gave me an assurance that our generation is not forgetting its values and there is a sense of morality among all of us.

That helping hand proved that humanity still exists in this world and that no evil will ever uproot the core values imbibed among us.

Endure the Storm

The seasons of life change every moment and are just like the weather, highly unpredictable. No one can ever tell you what period of your life you will be facing no difficulties, no challenges. Rather, I observe that every day of life is a new challenge.

Every now and then life will keep on throwing challenges at you; your attitude towards these will decide how long these tough times will persist. If you take up the challenge and exert your cent percent you will be able to overthrow the problem overnight. But on the other hand if you take it the other way, maybe you will never get to the end.

Remember, The most challenging times bring us the most empowering lessons.
