Effects of the Coronavirus on the IT industry:

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride and If AI could contribute in eliminating a certain pandemic, we all would thrive! The love story of mankind and technology though, has never got stronger. Through the decade of 2010, it looked like a piece of cake. Everything! We almost could turn to Alexa to bake a cake for us! Well ALMOST. A fairytale script isn’t it?

Surprise surprise! Cometh 2020, cometh the dream-shatterer! And technology no longer looked like the better half of mankind. You’d relate to the impact, the IT industry has been through and will witness going forward, If you had played the game of dominoes; quite ironically of Chinese origin. The effect of COVID-19 is quite similar, but with accentuated velocity.

Companies that had their feathers ruffled back in 2008 during the recession, had an advantage though. I’m sure, ‘recession’ and ‘advantage’ don’t quite go hand in hand but the comparative scoreline, reads Advantage – 2008. The difference between the two frameworks are, the collision and aftermath of the financial downslide back in 2008 was far fragile compared to today’s latitude since every sector today is coming under the scanner.

If physical indulgence wasn’t a matter of concern, we could have braved the whiplash. Alas! Again, if wishes were horses, beggars would ride! With IT making inroads into practically every category from Aviation, F&B, retail, ERP solutions, sports analytics, live entertainment, banking, fintech, to the blue-eyed one of hospitality & tourism, this is a classic case of ‘What goes up, must come down’.

Most sectors that technology has elevated, has had physical indulgence. This has broken the demand and supply chain considerably. Thus causing the Dominoes effect. To fan the flame, 2020 has no clue as to when the lockdown will be lifted and even if lifted, when things will begin seeing the light of day. As of today though, the IT industry is walking through that tunnel, where even if we spot light, it is of the train charging towards it.

Blog 2: Can IT revive itself to its fullest glory? Can they heave a sigh of relief post this pandemic? Will the million dollar babies – The start-up ecosystem continue showcasing astronomical valuations? All this and more will be keeping the grey matters in motion, of industry stalwarts.

The IT sector has a considerable presence in China and this phase could be decisive. With the global lockdown playing spoilsport, albeit with intentions of curbing the dreadful COVID-19 virus, the sector is in for a bear walk. IT sees itself in practically every area of today’s scenario right from aviation that is a major contributor, new-age aggregators, F&B, retail, Sports analytics, live entertainment, banking, fintech to the more famous and widely recognised hospitality and tourism sector, this scenario of social distancing and minimal physical intervention could be the achilles heel for the global IT industry.

With this backdrop, the plot gets even more ominous. This has already begun playing its role in affecting the demand-supply cycle that has paved way for a cascading effect. IT being the epicentre of all industries, the gravity of the situation is felt a lot more here. We also hear many mid to high cap companies have suspended operations in China.

Companies of the order of Google, Amazon and Microsoft all have decided to take a sabbatical from their operations in China owing to this precarious situation. The revenue through IT in India, is expected to drop by 2-7% owing to the shutdown. This steady dip can be expected in the next couple of quarters.

Blow Horn and Survive

Blow Horn and Survive-Blow That Horn!

Life is nothing but a race.

Since the day we start figuring life out, we realize that life is a big part of a mammoth rat race going on all around the world.

The race of being better, the race of achieving better and the race of living better. We all run it somewhere sometime. Some run slow enough to lag behind while some try and run fast while others diligently keep on getting faster and faster. If you want to be better, train yourself better.

The race will never end and you’ll go ahead when you overtake the one running in front of you. Your success is the only thing that can bring them behind you.

Run fast, faster and the fastest. Train in silence and let your success do the talking!

Your success is your horn! Before you take over, you gotta BLOW THAT HORN!

SOUPFORTHESOUL

Survive!

Life is too short, they say!

Well it’s not that short. It goes on and keeps on giving us newer experiences. Some bitter, some sweet, the experiences are worth living for because that’s what we’re here for, to live on!

It’s not that we can’t survive. If you put an elephant in water, would it drown?

It’s so heavy, it should drown! But it doesn’t! it floats and come to the shore because it has that one thing in it that makes him different from a heavy wood log or something, and that thing is LIFE.

You’re alive that means you’ve survived your past bravely, no matter what it held.

SURVIVE AND LIVE

So, why worry! Just brace yourself and dive in your life, you’re not gonna drown until the end!

The World is turning Fancy-Disguise the insides!

We all have our idols and we keep following them. The way they look, the styles they adopt and even the way they talk, we follow everything and adopt them in our life styles.

But our idols are great men who’ve achieved great things in life. Even if they’re the actors that play in movies, they have a message to be delivered.

But why do we fancy only their outsides? We should go deeper, think deeper and look for what actually they want to tell us. By adopting the good things that they tell us, that they want to deliver, is actually how we should follow them.

Disguising ourselves as the great men just from the mere outsides won’t help, let’s try and disguise the insides as them too.

They have a lot to teach and we have a lot to learn. Let’s pay heed to the things which are important!

The simpler, the better!

The world is turning Fancy!

It’s all getting glittery and shiny, the glam and the glow doesn’t fail to draw eyeballs. And we’re all sailing the same boat. We all want best products, best brands, best everything to adorn our life. The more we spend on material seems the very first sign of a lavish lifestyle.

But! Does it make us any happier? We are doing so to impress the ones surrounding us. To let them judge who’s better and to let them know what we have and how we spend it.

This doesn’t invite happiness. It just makes us more anxious every time because each time we go out to face those people we need newer things to impress them and to draw their attention and this occupies our mind most of the time so how can we expect peace to come to us!?

Peace only comes when life is less complicated, when we don’t have a race to run and when we don’t care what others think of us.

And that sort of peace is in staying simple. The simpler we stay, the easier our life would be.

Let’s stay simple and humble and let’s not ruin it all in the name of lifestyle!

Power makes you lonely sometimes

Power makes you lonely sometimes/Soup for the Soul

Running behind power, fame and recognition, we’ve left behind many things, many precious things that can’t be recovered now.

You were too busy working when your only kid slept waiting for you on his birthday, you were too busy proving your mark that you missed the little moments where your family missed you too badly, you were too busy convincing someone for your own gain that you couldn’t be there with your wife when she was sick, you weren’t there when your friends had bad times or were enjoying, you were too busy earning hard cash that you missed the real wealth, the wealth of happiness and golden moments.

This is the hard reality of your life. You say you work only for their comfort and happiness but that’s not true. Your loved ones would only want your time and your own happiness. They would be okay if you work less or earn less.

They would be happy in less if you give them the most valuable thing, your time.

Because if you don’t, they’ll learn to live without you, your kids will find things to do out, your wife will keep herself occupied and your friends would take you as an outcasts.

Then you’ll have money, power and recognition of the world, but you’ll be alone!

Alone? Not a problem!

Some situations in our life come when we feel the loneliest person in the world. Even if we’re surrounded by a huge crowd, even if we’re around thousands of people, we feel alone and that’s the feeling that arises when nothing goes right.

Even the ones close to us seem to be busy and all taken away that they get no time for you!

But what is the solution to this? Crying and be depressed? Not at all!

The world doesn’t give you any attention because the world is busy. They all are busy with their own life so why can’t you be?

There are no less things that you can do, the things that’ll make you gain a lot. Keeping yourself busy in productive work and the tasks that make you a better being is what is much more worth it than having someone’s useless companionship.

So being alone is not a problem unless you yourself take it as one.

In fact, being alone is much better sometimes. It keeps you away from some pointless worries and issues. And the companionship of some productive work only makes it better.

So if you’re alone, avail the opportunity well and drown yourself in some good work.

But

Soup For The Soul

Selflessness might be dangerous!

We’re taught since childhood the meaning of the word ‘Selfish’. It’s always taken in the negatives ways. If a person is selfish, he is considered as cunning and the bad one. But that is not completely true.

ALONE INSPIRE STORY

There are two types of selfish people. The ones who only think about themselves and harm others to have their own gains are the bad ones but the selfish people who besides thinking about others, keep their own priorities clear are the good selfish ones.

Soup For The Soul

And we can see it with a fact nowadays, if we don’t think about our own self, who else will?

No one thinks about anyone in the present world. Everyone has to think about their life on their own. And if we don’t keep that little good selfishness alive in us, we would never be able to achieve the desired things in life. Because if we let others enter the door before us, we’ll never be able to board the bus and it’ll leave without us.

So, being selfless ain’t bad at all but being a little good selfish is what is needed.

Soup For The Soul

Because without thinking of our own, we’ll do injustice to our own self. We’re only the ones who’ll think of our own self, no one else will.

Keep the name high

Keep the name high/Soup for the Soul

Patriotism nowadays is rarely found but it surges through us at once suddenly at some points.

We might keep yelling bad things about our country INDIA, criticizing the system, the corruption, the infrastructure and even our countrymen. But when we’re talked about in other countries and when others come to judge us, we stand united.

We our self can say a lot bad about India but we can’t hear the same from any other countries. When it comes to proving our mark and proving our potential, we give our level best to perform more than good in front of the whole world. We keep that dignity higher when it comes to competing internationally and that’s in itself a achievement that leads us to many others.

If we keep getting united at times like these, we’ll soon learn to stay inside even at the domestic levels and that is where the rise of the sun of developed India will take place.

Keep on working in the good directions and one day the worlds will take our name with much more respect!
